Lauren is an 8-time Southeast Emmy winning filmmaker, and an Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia. She is a Director, Producer, and Actress known for Ugly Sweater (2024), Blossoming (2022), The Third Saturday in October (2022), and It's a Southern Thing (2017).

She is the co-founder of Purple Magnet Productions. Lauren was born and raised in Webster, Texas by her parents, Deborah and Robert Musgrove, both with careers at NASA. Her sister, Lindsay Musgrove, is an orthopedic surgeon.
